Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data UptimeStats ("we", "us") collects when you use uptimestats.org, why we collect it and what choices you have. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the service.
Data we collect
- Account data: your email address, an optional display name and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Monitoring data: the website addresses you add and the results of our checks (time, HTTP status code, response time, error type, SSL certificate expiry date and issuer).
- Session data: when you log in we create a session and store a hashed session identifier together with your IP address and browser user agent to help protect your account.
- Contact messages: the name, email address and message you send through our contact form, plus the IP address it was sent from, to prevent abuse.
- Server logs: our servers log requests (time, path, status code and IP address) for security and troubleshooting. Logs do not include form contents or secret tokens.
How we use your data
- To provide the monitoring service: running checks, storing results and showing them in your dashboard.
- To send emails you need: email confirmation, password resets, and downtime and recovery alerts you have enabled.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To reply to messages you send us.
We do not sell your personal data.
Free tools
When you use our free tools, the address you enter is used to perform the check and show you the result. Tool results are not linked to an account and are not stored as monitoring history.
Advertising
The Free plan may in the future display advertising provided by third parties such as Google AdSense. Advertising is currently not active. Before it is enabled we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
Email delivery
Transactional emails are sent through an email delivery provider acting on our behalf. They receive only what is needed to deliver the message.
Data retention
- Detailed check results are kept for a limited period (currently 14 days, of which the last 7 days are shown on the Free plan). Daily summaries are kept while your website is monitored.
- Expired sessions and used or expired verification links are deleted automatically.
- When you delete a website, its monitoring history is deleted. When you delete your account, your account data, websites and monitoring history are deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. For any other request, contact us.
Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and session tokens, CSRF protection, rate limiting and strict access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
UptimeStats is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify registered users by email.
